Canadian Creative Industries Virtual Trade Mission to The Netherlands

Welcome to

Canadian Creative Industries Virtual Trade Mission to the Netherlands

Inspiring plenary sessions, informative workshops and targeted 1:1 meetings promises knowledge gain and new business contacts.

This mission will bring together creative industries companies (buyers as well as suppliers) from Canada and the Netherlands. This is a unique opportunity to generate new business contacts and partnerships. In the context of the postponement of the Canadian creative industries trade mission to Europe due to the pandemic, the Department of Canadian Heritage is embarking on its first virtual trade mission, taking place on November 25 and 26, 2020 and focused on the Netherlands.

As demonstrated by this project, the Department of Canadian Heritage is pivoting to virtual trade initiatives to continue to help Canadian creative industries maximize their export potential, despite the challenging circumstances due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This virtual trade mission will serve as a first step towards the full, in person trade mission to Europe sometime in 2021.

Mission Objectives

  • Provide/allow a virtual alternative to the traditional trade mission model, allow participating companies/organizations to access valuable international business development opportunities despite restrictions on travel and on large gatherings;
  • Introduce Canadian companies/organizations to potential partners/buyers/investors in the Dutch creative industry market ahead of the Europe mission, through high quality, tailored matchmaking;
  • Help creative industry SMEs adapt to the “new normal” and work towards recovery and closing future business deals.

Participants

The Canadian business delegation of the 2020 Virtual Creative Industries Trade Mission to the Netherlands is comprised of 20 Canadian creative companies and organizations that show high export potential and readiness for the Dutch market and operate in one of the following sectors: music, performing arts, audiovisual and/or interactive and digital media.
